Title: Battery replacement on Boom?
Post by: VisceralMoves on September 11, 2016, 01:58:27 AM
I've had a UE Boom for a couple of years and use it every day at my dance studio.  I've been noticing i'm not getting as long on a charge and was wondering if you can replace the battery on the UE Boom...if it continues to get worse.  Also...will keeping my UE Boom plugged in while playing and charged hurt the battery?

The quick and easy answer is no, it doesn't have a user replaceable battery.  Of course the reality is a bit more complex.  There are some videos on Youtube where they teach you step by step how to replace your old battery...but most likely it will void the warranty.  Then again...if your boom is a couple of years old it's probably out of warranty anyway.  In that case I guess it's up to you to determine if it's worth the risk or not and how confident you are in your tinkering skills.  Doesn't look TOO difficult..just don't go electrocuting yourself heheh.

It is not possible. Not in an easy way - of course you can search for the guides, but It's a headache. If you have a warranty, you can use it to contact the official support team and have them replace it.

In future try to get more advanced models like: UE Boom 2 vs Megaboom (http://"http://reviewposition.com/bluetooth-speakers/ue-boom-2-vs-megaboom/"). If I remember correctly one has 15 hours battery life-time and second 20 hours. I don't think that you'll have the problems with new models.
