Bluetooth Speaker General Discussion / Re: Waterproof speaker under $100?

Take a look at the ECOXBT and its' newer iteration.  That speaker could be tossed into a pool, blasted by a wave or washed in the sink as long as the covers were properly sealed.  They sound pretty good and could be found  for about $60 to $70.  About 6 watts output.

I joined this forum to exchange some knowledge about the technology and seek a type of speaker that stays connected to BT always.  SO far I have bought and returned  5 small units because they all do the same darn thing; they shut off if no audio is transmitted.  I am looking for a speaker that I can use and move around with me to work in conjunction with an Echo Dot.  I am very hard of hearing so this becomes my remote voice for Dot as well as my alarm clock.  I am looking for a dot-sized speaker that will stay on (in idle mode) and play the alarm to wake me.  As most speakers turn off, they do not work in this way.  Does anyone know of a speaker that keeps the BT link active for hours or until the battery reaches a shut-down point?

I would suggest giving a listen to the X-Mini series of speakers.  I have an X-mini (wired version) that has good bass for something about half the size of a regulation baseball.  You can close your fingers around it nicely but when you pop it open, it sounds nice for something sooo small.  They have a BT version also.

I have been a JBL fan for decades working with local Chicago bands.  I still like the JBL sound.  I have two CLIP's as they are handy to hang on things and for louder works I have a CHARGE.  It kicks...  I also have a Jlab Crasher, which sits on a shelf.  I like the charge in that it fits in the water bottle holder on my bike.
